<br />
Christmas cards being one of those things...I just ordered, and put our blog site on the cards so I figured I better update!<br />
<br />
One of mine and Ryan's New Year's Resolution was to take a break from Social Media. So I will continue taking pictures and posting on the blog as often as I can. :)<br />
<br />
I used to do the yearly newsletters, but 1. it was time consuming and 2. it was costly. So with Christmas cards this year I combined with notes about our year. But goodness gracious I love to talk about my family and me. Maybe it's because I love my family!<br />
<br />
I could go on and on about how amazing they are. Sure we have our ups and downs, but we have Christ as the center of our souls, lives, days, house, and family so we get through it by his grace and our faith.<br />
<br />
It's late and I should go to bed, but I'm taking medication for a sinus infection that's keeping me awake! I really should try to sign off and go to bed! Night all!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-41624701794122218202015-07-06T19:47:00.000-07:002015-07-14T12:59:05.627-07:00ABCs of Summer 2...M DayHoly Moly...give me an early bedtime for the kids, a glass of wine, The Bachelorette, Husband at work, and I'm on a roll with these blogs!<br>
<br>
So M is for Mommy and Me?! I have to say...I am so honored to have this husband of mine...he is so involved in helping me plan these days! When Mrs. Amber offered to keep Pierce for the day Husband and I were on the search for special things we could do with Prestyn!<br>
<br>
Since Mrs. Amber won't get to love on Pierce every day in the fall she sweetly offered to spend some time with him today. :) So Prestyn and I dropped Pierce off then she went with me to the gym. M is for MOOOOOMMMMMYYYY!!!!! The cry I hear as I drop her off... :(<br>
<br>
After the gym we went to Five Below! So fun!! We went so Prestyn could pick out her prize for filling up another row of her chart. She chose a Doc McStuffins game that is like Trouble. So M is for McStuffins. I guess I was more excited about the game though...I played while Prestyn watched and tried to MESS up my pieces...haha..I won! But I guess that's what happens when you play a game by yourself...womp womp womp...Pierce enjoyed watching though! haha!<br>
<br>
After picking out the prize we went to the grocery store where Prestyn picked out Macaroni & Cheese for lunch...how fitting and of course one of her favorites! haha! If you're one of those moms who doesn't give their kid Kraft Macaroni & Cheese because it's processed blah blah blah then go blog about that on your own, but don't judge me for what I serve my child. haha! ;)<br>
<br>
We also got marshmallows! The plan was to light the fire pit while Prestyn played in the pool, and roast marshmallows for smores. Sweet Dadda went to probably 5 different places over the past 2 days looking for wood for the fire pit! I mean I know it's July, but don't people go camping this time of year, and need wood for that?! IDK, but he finally found some!<br>
<br>
Ryan got the pool blown up & filled up with water,and Prestyn could not wait to get in there! It's so cute when she says, "I so cited!!!" heehehe! She also got to play in the water hydrant thing for a little bit. But unfortunately it was too windy to light the fire pit, and roast marshmallows so hopefully we'll do that soon!! I also got little marshmallows to connect to spell Prestyn's name so maybe we'll do that on the N day for Name?!<br>
<br>
Our day of fun went by quickly...Prestyn enjoyed a popsicable by the pool before coming in to dry off to go get Pierce. Which she was quite ready for. I wondered if she even remembers what life was like before Pierce?! She wanted to stay at Mrs. Amber's with him...she asked for him when we got home, and she was ready to go get him when it was time!<br>
<br>
Their relationship together is precious! I hope and pray it stays that way! They are seriously so sweet together...she loves on him, entertains him, and he just smiles at her!! Oh how I love my sweet babies!!<br>
<br>
And oh how I loved my Me time with P today!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1hovHix0TTOcARqdmsPGD48Ahi7rzmh5pwX027mvtG6AlN8N6hKQHbD0c3G3czSqSFAMzhfon33G2AJKl23q_S0Zf_dEIQXLuV41A7b0MjOM8VZxAnqQk4kyC5z0YlJLOFBB0zFI6ed4/s640/blogger-image-1030333759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1hovHix0TTOcARqdmsPGD48Ahi7rzmh5pwX027mvtG6AlN8N6hKQHbD0c3G3czSqSFAMzhfon33G2AJKl23q_S0Zf_dEIQXLuV41A7b0MjOM8VZxAnqQk4kyC5z0YlJLOFBB0zFI6ed4/s640/blogger-image-1030333759.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigonyqXtRc6Fni9kXLDZalGKs_qIKBfpjJydTji0RXF3rCYQwCZYVPsFEM4jCzuoUuokPuZrDvuBQH9A2LF0ApI7mAo7Ygmb0tWYOkdnAhUSFRsVa6cIjrz4Zhb3vG_k4_O-A4vaMXqAw/s640/blogger-image--344548491.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigonyqXtRc6Fni9kXLDZalGKs_qIKBfpjJydTji0RXF3rCYQwCZYVPsFEM4jCzuoUuokPuZrDvuBQH9A2LF0ApI7mAo7Ygmb0tWYOkdnAhUSFRsVa6cIjrz4Zhb3vG_k4_O-A4vaMXqAw/s640/blogger-image--344548491.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-44467536078256887372015-07-06T19:30:00.001-07:002015-07-14T12:55:43.829-07:00ABCs of Summer 2...L DaySo since the Date Days/Nights are trumping Prestyn's days we went on our date, but that didn't stop P from partaking in L day activities! Only because she has one of the best babysitters ever...Kiki & Brookie of course!<br>
<br>
Let me just say that our relationship with Prestyn is super important, but our relationship with each other is also important. I want our children to grow up, and see how much we loved each other...and see the things we did to keep our marriage going...date days/nights...so we're open with P about where we're going and what we're doing...I mean to an extent! She was happy to see us off, and even happier that Kiki was there with her!<br>
<br>
L is for Love...Kiki LOVES Prestyn and Prestyn LOVES Kiki! They started off swinging which kept Prestyn quite happy! Then when Brookie came over they did the little crafts I had put out for the letter L!<br>
<br>
So I got a paper plate, and cut the center circle out. The outside part was used to make a Lion Mask. I cut strips of yellow & orange paper to be glued around the plate as the lion's mane. Kiki and Brookie took it the extra mile, and painted the rim of the plate! Then you glue a popsicle stick to the mask so that you can hold onto that as you pretend to be a lion. Which Prestyn loves since she always ROARS and tries to scare Pierce...Big Sister Bully...juuuuust kiiiiiding...sorta<br>
<br>
The inside of the paper plate was used to make a lollipop! You put paint on it then cover it with saran wrap. Then let the child use his/her fingers to move the paint around. Then just add a popsicle stick to the circle and you have a lollipop!<br>
<br>
Prestyn has a little trouble saying her L's so it's cute to hear her say wowwipop and wion, but I try to get her to say l, l, l, l, lizard (for example). And she does the l, l, l, l part then says...WIZARD! aaaahhh! We'll get there! Just hoping she won't need speech therapy...if she does that's ok...but I'll try to do what I can to fix those L's until then! ;)<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAimCTYATI5BhnwKaaranugKnMNtcbmFUQX12lL0_aZ-4U2Y-vihP4DLmz7_Gge4cBhYIqhfsUHgWG8L5weZ-7XJVl2D75xFog6NCEzmrORDufO9WYMpOX7BvXCheTVov5IlGVc3IuXzM/s640/blogger-image-1406944392.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAimCTYATI5BhnwKaaranugKnMNtcbmFUQX12lL0_aZ-4U2Y-vihP4DLmz7_Gge4cBhYIqhfsUHgWG8L5weZ-7XJVl2D75xFog6NCEzmrORDufO9WYMpOX7BvXCheTVov5IlGVc3IuXzM/s640/blogger-image-1406944392.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-20392738448177295612015-07-06T19:22:00.001-07:002015-07-06T19:57:14.796-07:00ABCs of Summer...Date Night Edition...J-LSeriously...planning these has been so fun! It's really changed things up & I like it!! Last month a lot of the focus was on places we took Prestyn. This month it's more about us! I already have M-P planned so when we have the time, sitter, and money we'll do that!<br>
<br>
The J-L date was so fun! Again, in short: we went for a Jog on Katy Trail and had Lunch at Ice House on Katy Trail.<br>
<br>
I've been working on getting baby weight off and pre-baby weight that I wanted to lose. So I've been running. I run on the treadmill at the Y because I like watching tv while I run and the AC! But to run on Katy Trail was so fun! A change of scenery was nice, and to have my love by my side made it so much easier.<br>
<br>
Not gonna lie...this run was tough! Especially since I've been used to running indoors. There were some hills, and the ground is definitely a lot harder than pounding on a treadmill. There were times I wanted to give up, and if Ryan wasn't by my side I would have...I would have stopped and walked...but with him running next to me it was VERY motivational! I'm lucky to have someone who enjoys exercise and motivates me!<br>
<br>
What's better after a good long run than a good yummy lunch?! Ice House on Katy Trail is LITERALLY on the trail...so we stopped...had some beverages & yummy/semi-healthy lunch...I mean we did just get done running 3 miles!<br>
<br>
Love this man, and love our dates together!!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4TbgJoBr6nXon9uL6Cidtm4nY-0N2oB2kppEyiPTri38-mCng_QjERKhQ2jE5ScFT1AZXbagquTR6e9-0t4vI-YhPeR3B_F9bZdS2_X5jonL1mK87BDWQ5whi7fMttHJ3dQ5hNWRd548/s640/blogger-image-1425817016.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4TbgJoBr6nXon9uL6Cidtm4nY-0N2oB2kppEyiPTri38-mCng_QjERKhQ2jE5ScFT1AZXbagquTR6e9-0t4vI-YhPeR3B_F9bZdS2_X5jonL1mK87BDWQ5whi7fMttHJ3dQ5hNWRd548/s640/blogger-image-1425817016.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv_oytRWVKdCCUxYZulGKoIY2VlLwn2gIzvb9iC8-Ueu9NI7qIqv4p3KXxd4pwDHWCOnTGLHqHx8P1hjgeg1z-gSOXBmezmUONgFGt3DLa5c3RhgSwmyHxNSMGLT-iHdMBMDBUZXmK8ZQ/s640/blogger-image-2001645136.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv_oytRWVKdCCUxYZulGKoIY2VlLwn2gIzvb9iC8-Ueu9NI7qIqv4p3KXxd4pwDHWCOnTGLHqHx8P1hjgeg1z-gSOXBmezmUONgFGt3DLa5c3RhgSwmyHxNSMGLT-iHdMBMDBUZXmK8ZQ/s640/blogger-image-2001645136.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXIl9IrhUubMBzT2gYIRSVKgBJWYDBkerB5bbmrqmls3sr1vmF9zUJDken9PO2mtBwSLrgDvzurjEn4qzxYi-FW_Zd_M3gKVOWjypF_KtOdElgABm9r8dg0MCcU1HUWCnzWkpkNJ_udw/s640/blogger-image--1934693415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXIl9IrhUubMBzT2gYIRSVKgBJWYDBkerB5bbmrqmls3sr1vmF9zUJDken9PO2mtBwSLrgDvzurjEn4qzxYi-FW_Zd_M3gKVOWjypF_KtOdElgABm9r8dg0MCcU1HUWCnzWkpkNJ_udw/s640/blogger-image--1934693415.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-73154383344473353722015-07-06T19:16:00.001-07:002015-07-06T19:54:37.568-07:00ABCs of Summer...K DaySo now I realize there may be readers who read for ideas, but there may be some who still read my word for word because you have nothing better to do...haha!<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So...in short...K is for: Kiki, Kyoto, Krackle, and Kit Kat...haha!</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Here are the deets: This morning Ryan took Prestyn to run several errands including her picking a prize for filling up 2 rows on her chart! (More about this will be coming in a Terrible 2's post). She picked a fun beach ball with a crab inside it and bubbles! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
She was so excited when she got home to blow bubbles! I thought I guess K can be for...Kid being a Kid? I just let her play while I sat outside and watched her. It was so much fun! She jumped on the trampoline, blew bubbles, then played in her water table! She had on a pretty dress to wear on her date with Dadda, but it got very wet from the water table so she had to change! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So this is a little embarrassing, but Prestyn has been talking about going to the gas station with Kiki to get Kiki's beer and her beef jerky. Kiki has never taken Prestyn to get beer so I don't know where this came from, but we thought it was kind of funny. So Kiki and I took Prestyn to the gas station. No we didn't get beer! We did get beef jerky, but then we looked around for snacks and things that started with the letter K...that was hard! All we found was a Krackle bar and a Kit Kat. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Once we got home it was time for Prestyn to get ready for her date with Dadda! So let me tell you where this came from...</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
We got sad news last week that Mrs. Amber (Prestyn's babysitter for the past 2 years) was no longer going to be keeping kids. We had already planned on sending Prestyn to daycare in August, but Mrs. Amber was also going to care for Pierce so it was super sad that she isn't going to be able to be a part of raising him. :( So then we got to talking about possibly Mrs. Amber keeping the Sweet Ps while Dadda and I went on a date. I shared that with Prestyn, and she said, "I want to go on a date with Dadda...." aaawww! Ryan had been talking about taking Prestyn on a date, and since today was K day...and K is for Kyoto...and K day was on a Wednesday...and Kids eat free on Wednesdays it was PERFECT! For those who aren't local...Kyoto is a hibachi steak house so Prestyn got a show and a yummy dinner! Ryan said she was a little afraid, but all she has talked about is the choo-choo train that the chef did...hehe :) </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So there you have it...simplistic & fun! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivvoGDNtsF2X0EgZxpgv_3zvUwQO0YD26FRWjRPRX1BrfpRj2HcM3TGwPtKM_gHDbanBPbpAC5FVcrYlwj_9IbCHQ6-z_WfMi0t7iHDJuO57GLPC3Pt7ECpuWmhcYaN0yaOtBZ9AlpkUE/s640/blogger-image-1547595826.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; <br />
Then when I posted about it many people messaged me, commented, etc., to tell me how their child also had tortocollis. I didn't even know what the diagnosis was until the Physical Therapist came for the initial evaluation. I also didn't realize how common this is until I heard from everybody...so thank you! You all put me at ease...but if you don't know much about it here's my little blurb about it...<br />
<br />
And again...my blog is a way for me and my family to reflect back on past times so it's also for me to keep up with what has happened in our crazy busy, but joyfully abundant happy lives.<br />
<br />
Ok so pretty much every doctor appointment I go to with Pierce...I cry...I titled this my strong little man because he is just that! We've been through a lot (for us) with feeding issues & now his neck...<br />
<br />
After MANY MANY MANY phone calls we FINALLY got the PT out to do the initial evaluation. As we were signing paper work, and going over how therapy would go the PT reassured me that Pierce's tilt wasn't "that bad." He said it's about a 10% tilt, and he sometimes sees 20-30% tilts. He said that it's most likely from the way he was positioned in the womb...this part is interesting because now that I look back at pictures of Prestyn from 0-2 months I notice the same kind of tilt...maybe her's wasn't "that bad" either, but the pediatrician wasn't concerned. They go to the same pediatric office, but see different pediatricians.<br />
<br />
It was so cute how Pierce just starred at the PT while he measured him and did exercises with him. I showed & told the PT what I had been doing to help. He said that was all really good, and that could be why it wasn't as bad...::insert pat on back:: he then showed me some other exercises to do for Pierce. And these needed to be done with every diaper change. Already with every diaper change we do tummy time as long as Pierce could stand it with the exercises I was already doing so now this routine is just lengthened a little. ::side note:: I pray the caregiver we find for our sweet boy will continue with the exercises while he's under her care...<br />
<br />
So now after tummy time and moving Pierce's head side to side I put him on his back. I sing Wheels on the Bus while I do his exercises which makes him smile, and not think about how the stretches may be hurting him...we turn his head both ways, tilt it both ways (like ear to shoulder), and massage his neck. I really feel like he's improving! He really is such a strong little man! We also put a rolled up towel (or fancy roll thing that Nonna made) :) next to Pierce's neck while he's in the swing and/or car seat.<br />
<br />
We're getting to the point where we need to move naps to the crib since in the crib he moves his head all sorts of ways all night long! So I know he'll benefit from napping in there during the day, but I haven't been quite ready for that challenge yet...<br />
<br />
Anyway...not much to this post, but just to write about where Pierce started, and where he'll be at the end. There was a concern for him needing a helmet since babies with tortocollis can only turn their head one way they develop a flat spot and need a helmet. Not only does the cost of this terrify me, but the fact of my baby boy having to wear something on his head 22 hours a day! :( I am praying that the stretches and exercises cure his tortocollis, and he won't need a helmet...but if he does that's ok...we'll cross that bridge when we get to it!<br />

Sometimes I'm like wow it's already been 3 months?! Other times I'm like geez it's only been 3 months?! Haha! Nonetheless the past 3 months have been a joy!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I feel like we have finally figured our little guy out, and functioning as a family of 4. Pierce is such a happy and smiley baby. You can't tell from these pictures...I guess he got a little camera shy. I usually get the smiley pictures on my phone. My phone that is now in Lake Ray Hubbard so a lot of those pictures are lost. I'm heartbroken, but thanks to social media I can retrieve some pictures. And now I'll be snapping like crazy to get some of my handsome boy on this phone. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Enough about me...back to the stud! This amazing little boy usually gets his last feeding of the night anywhere between 6-8. Then...get this...he sleeps AT LEAST 8 hours before waking to eat. Sometimes more! It's blissful! Of course I wrote this last night then the little stinker is calling me a liar. He woke after sleeping for 6 hours. But it's still really good. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pierce has always loved to be swaddled, but lately he's been busting out of it but still able to sleep. So I guess we're gulf go try weaning from the swaddle. I'll just leave one arm out for a while. This night change when we move naps to his crib. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He currently takes 3-4 naps a day in the swing. Really it's just easier that way, but I know it can't last forever. Naps are usually about an hour and a half to two hours. Sometimes I have to wake him to feed him either because we need to leave the house, or because I don't want hum napping too long. That could disrupt night time sleep. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Speaking of going somewhere...this boy loves car rides! He'll either look out the window the entire time, or he'll just close his eyes and go to sleep! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He also loves big sister, Prestyn. He just smiles and laughs at her. It's so sweet. Until she plays chubby cheeks with him then he gets upset. Maybe he has a complex about his chubby cheeks, but I love them! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
These chubby cheeks are part of the 13.2 lbs that Pierce currently weighs! He's wearing size 2 diapers, and size 3 month clothes. Although because he's now 23 inches long his size 3 month footed pjs are too short so he's wearing size 3-6 month in those. Pretty soon his daytime wear will all be size 3-6 months. Makes me sad how quickly he's growing! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He eats 5 oz of the Similac Total Comfort formula every 3-4 hours. This kind is much better on his little tummy, and we're not having to give the gas drops as often. We still give them when we can tell he has a bubble stuck. Gripe water still works miracles! Especially when he has the hiccups and can't go to sleep! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sometimes all the exciting play gives him hiccups! We have 2 playmats that he likes to play on. And this month he started sitting in the bumbo regularly. The time he can sit in there and play is getting longer! We do lots of singing and dancing too while I clean house! And of course tummy time! Pierce is doing so good at holding his head up whole laying on his tummy. I usually read to him while he's on his tummy. Prestyn likes to be in on this too! She does so good playing with her little brother! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So after 3 months of a family of 4 I couldn't imagine us any other way. Excited to see what the next month brings us!<br />

Prestyn got a trampoline from Santa, and she's always wanting friends to come over and jump with her. <div><br></div><div>Well this day her sweet friend Saylor got to come jump with her! Saylor's mommy and I have been friends for 21 years!!! Crazy, huh?! We don't even have to force this friendship on them. They naturally love each other! </div><div><br></div><div>So after some jump time Saylor was ready to make Jellyfish. Crafts with 2 year olds doesn't always go as planned. Haha. Maybe that part was more for the moms. About 5 minutes into it they were done, and ready to watch a movie...and eat Cheetos! Lol. These 2 are so cute!! </div><div><br></div><div>So even though the jelly fish crafts didn't get find they still had a lot of fun together. </div><div><br></div><div>After they were over the movie they played for a while in Prestyn's kitchen. Then we pretty much had to force them to eat lunch. Jelly and peanut butter sandwiches of course! With a side of jello! </div><div><br></div><div>It's taken me 2 days to write this post because I didn't feel so joyful about this day. At this point Prestyn had pooped in her diaper. Then threw a big ol' fit because she didn't want get diaper changed. In the fight of changing her diaper she got in her bed to tee tee. And joyfully shared this with me! </div><div><br></div><div>It was a tough afternoon but after a nap she was much better! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSjkT3k5BG1prtozivRX0VH1VtkNWmdMVkRw0HqNg2RZqRhnY2xjxZdlL9ia1gQq38K11g0s1EAYu7FNz6j8SXXeGFmHPWgX7ka3wI0TiOaZQW2flN5y2tSNaN8o6lxo11nHGF84Bm1Fs/s640/blogger-image-632580362.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSjkT3k5BG1prtozivRX0VH1VtkNWmdMVkRw0HqNg2RZqRhnY2xjxZdlL9ia1gQq38K11g0s1EAYu7FNz6j8SXXeGFmHPWgX7ka3wI0TiOaZQW2flN5y2tSNaN8o6lxo11nHGF84Bm1Fs/s640/blogger-image-632580362.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-75386144646176069282015-06-29T06:23:00.001-07:002015-06-29T06:38:43.311-07:00ABCs of Summer...Date Night Edition...G-IThis is fun. It really makes you think out of the box and get creative with your dates! We discussed many things we could've done for the letter G, but this is what we decided on: <div><br></div><div>Appetizers and beverages at Gloria's at the Harbor then to see Jurassic Park. I thought afterwards we could get Ice cream at Coldstone at the Harbor or make Ice cream at home! Today is Prestyn's J day so we went ahead and included that in our date plan...until...</div><div><br></div><div>The neighbor came over, and asked us if we wanted to go on their boat! Um yeah!! If you know my husband well you know how happy the lake and being on a boat makes him! And 30 lbs away from a goal weight! Soooo our morning was spent at the gym. I get my workout in indoors! But Prestyn wanted to play outdoors. Ha. </div><div><br></div><div>We had some good relaxing time at home after the gym. I had some letter I crafts planned as well as making homemade ice cream. Prestyn had so much fun with this first craft that we didn't get to anything else! </div><div><br></div><div>So I'm calling this Ice Cream Paint. Except next time I'll do it a little different. So here's what we did: </div><div><br></div><div>On a paper plate I sprayed some shaving cream. Then squeezed glue on it. Prestyn used a Popsicle stick to mix it up. She said she wanted her "ice cream" to be pink so then I added pink acrylic paint and stirred that in. </div><div><br></div><div>On a large sheet of paper I drew an ice cream cone. I then told her to paint the scoops of ice cream on the cone. She went a little crazy, but who am I to micromanage?! I let her have fun with it! This is definitely something we'll do again. I got this off Pinterest but I think next time...</div><div><br></div><div>I'll just spray whipped cream on a plate and add food coloring then let her paint with that. Until she's old enough to understand not to eat the ice cream paint. π we'll also do it outside next time. It made quite the mess but it wSnt too bad cleaning up! π</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8wGWEic1-2TfrKBMRnhS832DvvNx1xxU_m1utjluzUZU-Mi4mSAyMYOgxEc1phDUCirtkRbe8q9hlPd9Em16Or28svw7nEiIYIVFATIJIjc6wyeGYHi0eKrVmcZahuZ9KbQMqho8lVEE/s640/blogger-image--1574808570.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8wGWEic1-2TfrKBMRnhS832DvvNx1xxU_m1utjluzUZU-Mi4mSAyMYOgxEc1phDUCirtkRbe8q9hlPd9Em16Or28svw7nEiIYIVFATIJIjc6wyeGYHi0eKrVmcZahuZ9KbQMqho8lVEE/s640/blogger-image--1574808570.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIpUn0NbbQ9h_IjCy5JLqlZqz5syKrt6oZchZtxXMJX9MDJHUSQn0RvySWKGB3iDueELB3R9C6zp8IsCuTbet837EN6NeNwXJgEtK65y1jgm4czAbA02aTGWKl_JOD03DtiYpAxLcxyns/s640/blogger-image--1007075896.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIpUn0NbbQ9h_IjCy5JLqlZqz5syKrt6oZchZtxXMJX9MDJHUSQn0RvySWKGB3iDueELB3R9C6zp8IsCuTbet837EN6NeNwXJgEtK65y1jgm4czAbA02aTGWKl_JOD03DtiYpAxLcxyns/s640/blogger-image--1007075896.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-YiBnkKWT9MSIJ-liNtpLGv2QR_cXAyyrR5IvtM5oMGw8AO9rZZmY0YpFZSmuoYlft9SUaZR-oM-4tqoI15iNNIlymr3bP3ccHtjKZUcUx-lVZsLYKbkqw_58E0dxg_V4z9klTwMTqNk/s640/blogger-image--689366500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-YiBnkKWT9MSIJ-liNtpLGv2QR_cXAyyrR5IvtM5oMGw8AO9rZZmY0YpFZSmuoYlft9SUaZR-oM-4tqoI15iNNIlymr3bP3ccHtjKZUcUx-lVZsLYKbkqw_58E0dxg_V4z9klTwMTqNk/s640/blogger-image--689366500.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu2uQFy1o2DDKseS_ymwd_imJV-b9mljhOuw64EnX1N4XmntIVwcmjshl30BKRAb6H62ygN2VqZgbIr5kOId-j88SQTyV1D8-Oy9ClR4ML-cZYMEJ1PYY7zm4sF1eJgzDPUSPoncqS_1s/s640/blogger-image--109904381.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu2uQFy1o2DDKseS_ymwd_imJV-b9mljhOuw64EnX1N4XmntIVwcmjshl30BKRAb6H62ygN2VqZgbIr5kOId-j88SQTyV1D8-Oy9ClR4ML-cZYMEJ1PYY7zm4sF1eJgzDPUSPoncqS_1s/s640/blogger-image--109904381.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS1JGk2JRsOucq1YOGc0ZXMgbNyeEssAWuj_F3WaRA-QxC8MaewCrfwSq4KQX-Bg68dDiMS9dYGGPyyBwvv5uzf26w5n2HzmKAeUwDAZWtr6D2xi3kj5yfId3So3-mm7iM4PfT-NNKwnk/s640/blogger-image--1173303954.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS1JGk2JRsOucq1YOGc0ZXMgbNyeEssAWuj_F3WaRA-QxC8MaewCrfwSq4KQX-Bg68dDiMS9dYGGPyyBwvv5uzf26w5n2HzmKAeUwDAZWtr6D2xi3kj5yfId3So3-mm7iM4PfT-NNKwnk/s640/blogger-image--1173303954.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-25309190011886188642015-06-25T20:12:00.002-07:002015-06-25T20:12:55.272-07:00ABCs of Summer 2...H DayWhodathunk it that our H day last year was exactly 1 year ago today. Thanks to Time Hop I was able to compare pictures of Prestyn at the same place!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Although...in last year's picture she was picking blackberries. In this year's picture she is eating ice cream. Beeeecaaause...we didn't get to pick blueberries this year. :( again, I was so sad, and began to think this day would be another flop! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We made the best of it though! Ryan and I both checked their website, and it said we'd be able to pick until end of June. Apparently they've been so busy that everybody picked all the blackberries so there weren't any left. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we picked up our bag of peaches, and got our ice cream. I had to get the peach ice cream. Prestyn said she wanted pink so we got her strawberry! Aaaand she wanted hers in a cup to eat it with a spoon. I prefer a cone but to each is own. And what my baby wants my baby gets. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When we drove up to Ham's Orchard we saw signs got a petting zoo. Since we couldn't pick blackberries we thought we'd check the petting zoo out. And boy am I glad we did! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The oldest daughter of the Ham family started the petting zoo this summer. It's only $4 to get in (2 and under are free), and I think it's the best petting zoo I've been to! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There were no barriers! We got right in there with the animals! There were chickens, ducks, bunnies, baby pigs, goats, sheep, and a llama. Prestyn said the bunnies were her favorite. Probably because she got to hold one. The baby pigs were my favorite. Probably because I got to hold one. π </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The pictures speak for themselves. I'm so glad we went! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
H is also for Hot and Humid! Last minute I decided to look for a sitter for Pierce. Ryan's cousin, Alex, was being a creeper, and saw I needed a sitter. I'm glad she was creepin though because she came, and kept Pierce while we went! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And since it was so hot it was the perfect day for Dadda to blow up our little pool in the backyard! The afternoon ended great with Prestyn and I in the pool. Then her friend Bo came over with his mommy. Prestyn has been asking about him since our letter B day! Glad they finally got to play! </div>

G day didn't quite go as I planned...I had it circled on the calendar since I still needed to plan something. Then Kiki snap chatted a picture of a Gloria's meal that looked delish so then I had a plan!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
G is for Gloria's. A treat for Mommy, Dadda, and the 2 sweet Ps! Dadda got his margarita. Mommy got her enchiladas (which I always order when we go out since Ryan doesn't like them so I never get to cook them), Pierce got to go on our adventure, and Prestyn got to play at the Harbor Splash Pad...or so I thought. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So after we ate I changed P into herbs thing suit, lathered on the sunscreen then went out to the splash pad. We waited, and we waited, and we waited. Ryan read that it comes on twice an hour every day. So we waited for 30 minutes, and it never came on. :( I was so sad for Prestyn! We did walk around the Harbor which was nice, and took P to see the lighthouse. Pierce just slept the whole time. He was tired from all the smiling he did at Gloria's. :) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Once we got home I was hoping we could go play with Prestyn's friend Grey, but Dadda took a nap so Prestyn and I did G day activities at home! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I put hair gel in a gallon sized Baggie then taped it to her placemat with her name on a piece of cardstock underneath. She liked feeling the gel through the Baggie as she traces the letters of her name. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Then our plan was to make a goat out of her handprint. We started by glueing Popsicle sticks on the cardstock to make a fence. Next was to paint Prestyn's hand to make the goat, but Pierce had another plan. He was DONE napping and ready to take a bath! And because Prestyn missed her nap she went ahead and had her dinner and bath too so she could get to bed early! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Even though the day didn't turn out the way we planned it was still a good day. I'm certainly enjoying these summer days with my family. </div>

Ryan was pretty excited when he saw I put this on the calendar. He considers that part of his old stomping grounds so he was excited to take his girls there. Thankfully it's not too far from Gammies house so first we dropped Pierce off since being outside there would be too hot.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Really the only thing I thought we would do was watch the Cattle Drive then eat lunch. The Cattle Drive started at 11:30 so we got there about 11. Once we got out there we saw how much there was to do for Prestyn! Again...seeing a part of the city through her eyes was priceless! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She wanted to ride the little carousel ride so we put the quarters in, and off she went! Her face in the pictures is priceless. Once she got going she was quite scared but she stayed on! Then she wanted to ride the rocking horse. Except when this one got going she wanted off! We convinced her to stay on if Daddy held her. :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was amazed at how many people were lined up along Exchange to watch the Cattle Drive. Prestyn liked seeing the Longhorns and horses so much that she kept saying she wanted to touch them. Haha. Well she couldn't touch those, but she could touch the animals in the Petting Zoo! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That was our next stop. The lady warned us that her pet deer roamed freely so to make sure she didn't eat all our feed. Haha. That was the sweetest deer! Prestyn said the goats and sheep were her favorite. I personally liked the lama! Lol! All I can think of is Napolean Dynamite! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a little train ride for kids, and Prestyn was not going to let us get past letting her ride it! She said she wanted Mommy to ride with her so we bought our tickets and off we went! It was a short ride but an enjoyable one. We went through a tunnel which Prestyn loved especially since she's always asking to go through a tunnel when we are driving! She even got a train whistle after the ride! Worth the 10 bucks! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We were then ready to eat lunch. Before going into Riscky's BBQ there was a clown cowboy making balloon animals. Prestyn requested a dog. He even let her choose the colors! She was showing her balloon dog off to everybody in the restaurant. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was so proud of my sweet girl. When the waitress came to our table Prestyn said, "I would like a sprite please." Saweet girl!! We had a good meal of BBQ and Mac and cheeee! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It really was a great day and we're so glad we made the trip! I can't wait until we can take both kids next time!<br />

I proudly admit that it's the teacher in me that inspires this. I know he's equally proud, but I also know he thinks I'm a little dorky and OCD over the ABCs of Summer. So when he tells people he's like...she's a teacher...haha.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Well...guess who had the brilliant idea to do ABCs of Summer for date nights?! Not me! The teacher. Nope. It was the firefighter's idea! And I loved it!!! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So with Prestyn we do the ABCs of Summer 3 days a week. Unfortunately we don't get date night 3 nights a week, but we are fortunate for the 1 night we get! So our one night we have to get a little creative and try to get through more than just 1 letter! It's just easier to keep track of if we're on the same letter of Prestyn. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So we started with the letter A, duh! Which stands for...anniversary!!! This year we celebrated our 4 year anniversary. I'm not going to lie...we've had our ups and downs these past 4 years but we've stayed strong in our faith and foundation for our marriage. We continue to be thankful for God bringing us happily together under not so happy circumstances. We're thankful for the life we have together with our children and each other. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So for Ryan's birthday he said all he wanted was socks. Really?! So I got him socks, but I also got him flip flops and a pedicure! I guess it was secretly a gift for me too because I was like hey we can go together on our anniversary! So momma got a mani and pedi too! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Our next stop took care of the letter B! B is for beverages! So we went to Flying Saucer. Ryan's a member of the UFO club, and it had been 1 year since we were there so it was time to check some more off his list! It was a beautiful day for patio sitting! And since the lake is so high now it gave off a nice breeze. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and conversation! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
C is for Concerts! That evening we joined our friends David & Grace for Concerts on the Lake. Again the weather was in our favor today! We had dinner and drinks out there while we listened to a Stevie Ray Vaughn cover band. Not so much our kind of music, but it was still fun. Afterwards we popped over to Southern Comforts at the Harbor where we did get to hear our kind of a music! Great Country Bar that we can't wait to go back to! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
This was entire Date Day and Night that was a blast! So there's the letter D! That's one piece of advice I always give newlyweds...continue to date each other! We have to stop and remind ourselves of that too sometimes but it's so important. Now that we have kids another crucial part is the conversation...it's hard not to talk about the kids, but we tried to talk like we're dating again! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
E is for Energy! We can't forget about the power nap Dadda and I got in between our day date and night. Pierce was asleep when we got home, and Prestyn was at the sitter so we both got naps in so we could have energy for the night! Because let's face it...we're 31 with 2 kids. We're Exhausted 80% of the time. Lol. So a nap is always an Effective way to Enjoy ourselves. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I haven't mentioned our gifts yet. That's the letter F! The Four year traditional gift is Fruit and Flowers! This was a Fun gift to arrange and it was easy on our budget. And since I took 10 weeks off work this was good! :) So I made Ryan...Bacon Flowers! It was so easy and he loved it! His fruit gift was a watermelon wall flower for his room at the station and lemon scented body wash. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Ryan came home with Flowers and chocolate covered strawberries for me! The Flowers were beautiful and in the cutest bird house vase! Attached to the Flowers was a balloon that Prestyn claimed as her own. It was so sweet. When Ryan walked in with it she said, "oh thank you daddy!" I couldn't tell her it was really for me. She loves balloons! The chocolate strawberries were delicious, and after this celebration it's time to get back on our diets! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Cheers to 4 years and at least 40 more!! </div>
<div>

I'm literally sitting on the couch with my feet propped up while Pierce is asleep in the swing, and Prestyn is sitting at the coffee table on the iPad. I hear the washer finishing up my load of laundry which means I'll soon have to get up to put the clothes in the dryer and fold the ones that are in there.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Until then I'll enjoy this time of rest to blog about our Dynamic Day! You know what starts with the letter D?! Dallas Zoo! Sure we could've waited until Z Day or $1 admission day but both times then it'd be way too hot! Today was the perfect day!! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
It was a little overcasted and a few rain clouds emptied over us, but after all the walking and humidity it felt nice. Still it wasn't too hot at all! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Since Dallas is 1/2 way between us and Arlington we invited Ryan's mom to join us! So Gammies met us there! We tried to get a picture in the B and G at the entrance but Prestyn wasn't having it! I prayed that wasn't a preview of how the day would go. Thankfully her attitude perked up when we started seeing animals! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
She has been talking about seeing the Bingos (flamingos) so thankfully that was one of the 1st animals we saw! She wasn't AS interested in them as I thought she'd be. Then she just talked about seeing giraffes. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
We literally walked through the ENTIRE zoo! A few times too! It was great! I don't think I've ever done that. Seems every time I'm there it's for a field trip so I'm on teacher duty, and don't get to walk around all that much. So this was a real treat! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I didn't take pictures of EVERY animal we saw but here's our day in pictures! They really speak for themselves! We had so much fun! Pierce will join us next year when he's older, and can handle the heat and being out all day. But thank you Kiki for keeping our little man happy while we spoiled our little girl with undivided attention! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
D is also for doctor. :( unfortunately momma started not feeling well again at the zoo. About a week and a half ago I went to the dr with fever, congestion, sore throat, etc. I tested negative for flu and strep. I started antibiotics and started feeling better the next day! I did lose my voice one day, and still had lots of congestion but I was feeling much better. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Until today. I started feeling a pain in my back that I though was from moving wrong, but then I noticed it was worse when I tried to take a deep breath. So I went to the dr again today. Nothing serious. Pleurisy is all. Got a shot, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory. Hoping to feel better soon! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
The purpose of sharing this was for this part: I told Ryan I'd take one of the kids with me so he didn't have both. Since Prestyn is the only one who voices her opinion, and she was well behaved all day...she got to go! </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
She did so good too! Shout out to Taryn Hope and the nurse at the RISD Health Center. Preston got colors, Gummies, and a lollipop after Mommy is the one who got the shot. π</div>

I've heard about this place, but had never been. We loaded the babies up, and headed to Fair Park! Parking is free at the aquarium and admission is free for kids 3 and under!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's not a large aquarium but it was perfect for our littles! We saw fish, snakes, turtles, and sharks. Prestyn was most excited to find the Nemo fish! Which we did find! And Dori! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pierce just chilled in the stroller until we went to feed the Stingrays. Prestyn and Dadda fed them while I held Pierce, and let him look around. It really is a cool place! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Prestyn also got to touch a sea urchin and the shell of what I guess was a hermit crab?! They also had octopus tentacles you could touch to see how they felt. Weird but cool! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The jellyfish were the neatest looking things to me! I highly recommend this place for your littles! There was a daycare there when we were there with some of the kids being older. They may have been bored but it's cheap and INDOOR entertainment! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
C is also for...chicken nuggets which is what prestyn told her daddy she wanted for lunch. What that baby wants that baby gets! </div>

We haven't been to the library yet this summer so my plan was to go this morning for story time. Then I thought we could check out books about or with Elephants! <div><br></div><div>Well we woke up this morning and it was Extra wet outside! Lots of rain! So I decided we would stay in! Our morning started with Prestyn having eggs for breakfast! She really enjoyed it and so did her baby! I thought it was so cute that she wanted to feed her baby. Such the little mommy! </div><div><br></div><div>After some Educational time of reading books it was time for our 1st experiment! Since experiments weren't in my original plan for today I had to find ones we could do with the materials we had here at the house. </div><div><br></div><div>The 1st one was fun. I just didn't have the right glue. So what you're supposed to do is use Elmers (I just realized that's an E too!) glue to "draw" a picture. Well we have the natural kind so it doesn't quite pour out like I guess the non natural kind?? So I ended up just spreading it all on the paper. Then you sprinkle table salt on the glue. Then you paint with food coloring and water! It was so Easy! First we reviewed our colors with the cups of water then added drops of food coloring in the cups to match. Then Prestyn painted away! Baby of course had to paint one too! </div><div><br></div><div>After an Extra special snack of ants on a log (peanut butter on celery with raisins on the peanut butter) it was time for another Experiment! This one Pierce got to watch too! So you're supposed to fill a jar about 3/4 of the way with water. Then top with white shaving cream. Not the gel kind. Well that was all we had so it made for a pretty Exciting Experiment! Then you're supposed to drop blue food coloring on the "cloud" to watch it rain in the jar. Again because we had the wrong shaving cream it didn't white work the way it was "supposed" to but P Enjoyed it!!</div><div><br></div><div>E is also for Extra snuggles! I Enjoyed snuggles both my babies today since we were home, but I really Enjoyed my snuggle time with Pierce. We put so much Extra attention into Prestyn so she doesn't feel like he's taking all the attention, but momma needs some time with little man too! </div><div><br></div><div>By the End of the day I was/am Exhausted! But before Ending our day Prestyn and I took a trip to the gym to Exercise while Kiki kept Pierce! So Prestyn's new word she learned was exercise. Then I just searched activities and places in the DFW area.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well Bass Pro Shops is one place that showed up so I thought hey! That can be our B day. Prestyn loves to go there to look at the fish. Every time we drive by it she asks to go see the fish. Plus it's an indoor activity! I'm all about getting out of the house but in this heat...unless there's water involved we'll be sticking to indoor activities as much as possible. Especially when it's something we'll be taking little P too! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We walked around...looked at the fish, turtles, reindeer (as Prestyn calls them), and bear. We walked into the restaurant so Prestyn could see the fish in there. We had no intention of eating there, but as soon as she saw it was a restaurant she said, "I eat." Well we can't tell her no to eating! Plus we like the food too. ;)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Prestyn ate Burgers, Bread & Butter!i know she's still a little young to understand letters and sounds but I'm trying! Except when I ask her scar sound B makes she says BO! That's a sweet little neighbor boy that she's been dying to play with! But she's right...Bo does start with B! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pierce looked at some of the fish then he took a Bottle and went to sleep! It was Prestyn's turn to nap when we got home. B is also for battles?! We've been battling her to stay in bed! She's doing better than before but I believe this nap took place on the floor. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was excited to do crafts with her when she woke up, but she's not quite into crafting as much as I am. We still have t made that Anna picture! But once I got started on our B day craft she was excited to get started on it. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She chose the paint color and I painted the letter B on a piece of cardstock. Then I folded it in half. It made a butterfly! Then Prestyn used sequins and glitter glue to decorate it! She decided to gift this to her Uncle Knee (Anthony). She was pretty proud of it! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
B is also for Bumbo! Mr. P sat in his Bumbo for the 1st time today! He is doing pretty good with it. I think he likes sitting up to see us, and he's getting better at holding toys while he sits there. His poor neck still hands to the right but the dang PT isn't returning our calls! Momma Bear will make the next call! If nothing is still not done then a call to the dr. Again!<br />

I didn't blog about every day, but we did partake in activities from A-Z! This summer I have a bit more of a plan, and now that she's a year older we can do more. :) Of course we have Pierce too! He's still too young to understand all that's going on, but we'll take him on the adventures when we can!<br />
<br />
Prestyn is still going to Mrs. Amber's on Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer. For 1 to help keep her in that routine and 2 to keep a Thomas Family spot since Pierce will start there in the Fall when Prestyn goes to Big Girl School! So our ABCs of Summer will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. If Ryan is working on one of those days I'm getting a babysitter to come stay with Pierce because me trying to take both kids somewhere would just be too much right now! Especially with their ages...also on those days either Prestyn and I will have just Mommy & Me time or we'll try to make it a playdate with one of her many friends! :) On the days that Ryan is home then all 4 of us will partake in the ABCs of Summer activities! <br />
<br />
This year I mapped out the days for June before so that we were prepared! I planned last year, but not this much so I think this will go much better! So we'll start with the 1st day...the letter A! <br />
<br />
Ok so here was my plan: A is for Animals. There are animals at the Gentle Zoo that Prestyn can touch & pet! This is where her 2nd birthday was supposed to be, but since she was sick and we didn't get to go we have a credit there. Ryan worked this day so Kiki came over to hang out with Mr. P, and Prestyn & I were on our way to Forney! We invited my friend Meghan and her daughter Saylor to join us! So Meghan gets out there a few minutes before me, calls me, and tells me it's CLOSED! Oh no!!! I had been psyching Prestyn up for seeing animals so I was worried about her disappointment. <br />
<br />
Well we turned around and headed to Chick Fil A! Prestyn didn't even ask about the animals. Ha! She was just excited to play with her friend Saylor. So we had a good lunch then we let the girls play! This was Prestyn's 1st time playing in a play area at a restaurant like that so I was of course snapping all kinds of pictures. People thought I was crazy, but I was also like hey this is going in the blog so I have to have pictures! <br />
<br />
Prestyn wasn't scared at all. I was worried that she would climb all the way to the top, and be too scared to come down. Nope! I was very proud of her! She also did so good when it was time to go. So there were lots of stamps earned. (That's a story for another post!) <br />
<br />
Our plan was to come home, nap, then continue with our A day activites. We were going to paint a picture of Anna from Frozen with Prestyn's foot. Instead we had a letter A visitor! Ryan's cousin Alex came to visit! Prestyn had lots of fun playing with her and her friend. :) Not a lot of "A" things were done, but we did have a pretty good day! <br />

Seems no visit is a perfect visit. I didn't cry when he wailed when they gave him his shots. I might cry now typing this. For a few reasons::<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. This is our last baby. At times I'm ready for this newborn stage to be over because I'm exhausted but other times I cherish rocking this sweet baby and can't believe 2 months has already passed! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2. I completely missed the fact that yesterday was in fact his 2 month birthday. Since his doctors appointment was today I just kept thinking today was the 27th. Nope it was yesterday. My mind has been so busy I didn't even know the date! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And 3. The tough stuff. I hate to start with that but since writing is my release I have to get this off my mind. Well not really off but just typing it out helps! So here's the tough part that makes me want to cry. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The doctor was asking me about his focus and following things with his eyes. He does this well. I told her that he favors his right side so I try to shake rattles, read to him, etc. on his left side to get him to turn that way. She said it's interesting I say that because she noticed his right side has a flat spot. π’ then we say him up in my lap and his head kind of falls to the right side. So she thinks his neck muscles are weak on the left side. She showed me an exercise to do with him routinely but she also is referring us to a physical therapist. The PT will evaluate him and show us more exercises we can do to help strengthen that left side. We're hopeful that with a stronger neck he'll have better motion with his head and that flat spot will go away. We go back in 1 month to reevaluate. If the flat spot isn't better we'll need discuss him needing a helmet. π </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Not what this paranoid momma wants to hear! I am spending just as much time with Pierce as I did prestyn to help his development so of course I feel like I'm failing. Let's just pray this corrects itself with the exercises and our sweet boy will be well and good! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So now onto the good stuff! Not to compare children or anything but when it comes to riding in the car Pierce is much better than Prestyn was! I used to have to pull over to console her and give her the paci. Pierce may fuss a little then just go to sleep! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And oh those smiles! Those sweet sweet smiles! We get little cops and laughs out of him too when I sing and talk to him. He mostly likes songs that have hand motions that I do with my hands or his. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pierce is 22 3/4 inches long. That puts him in the 36th percentile. Maybe he'll be shorties like momma and daddy! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He weighs 12 lbs 11 oz which puts him in the 58th percentile. A little above average but that's ok! My little chunk still likes to eat! He takes 4 oz of similac sensitive formula every 3 hours. He's still a little gassy with that formula and the Dr. Brown bottles so we're going to try the similac total comfort formula to see if it's easier on his tummy. At times we think he's ready for 5 oz but he still just takes 4. In the evening he can only go 2 hours between a feeding so we may try 5 oz for that feeding. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He wakes up twice during the night to eat. Around 1 and around 4. Then we start our day around 7. This baby still loves to be swaddled. It's an immediate relief for him! He fusses, I swaddle, hold him up right, pat his back, and sshh in his ear and he's calm! Pierce is sleeping in his room at night. He starts naps in his crib but sometimes they end up in the swing because a nap in there is better than no nap at all. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Pierce still isn't quite a huge fan of tummy time but that doesn't stop me from making him do it after every diaper change! With this routine we'll be doing his neck exercises. I usually read to him while he's on his tummy too. He loves to play the piano with his feet on his playmat and he LOVES it when Prestyn talks to him and plays with him. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
He's wearing size 1 diapers that I'm sure he'll outgrow soon and size 0-3 month clothes. His 3 month clothes fit too but I'm trying to get as much use as u can out of the 0-3! Holding onto those baby sizes! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This little guy is definitely a momma's boy and I wouldn't have it any other way! Although Ryan's already ready to get him in sports! ππ here's our little mvp.<br />

Let's do a recap of the past 2, and you'll see why this one was the best! <div><br></div><div>My 1st Mother's Day was a really good one. We dedicated Prestyn at church and had a nice lunch at one of our favorites! My mom and dad and brother got to be there so that was great! That afternoon I was really hoping for a nap but Prestyn had a different plan. Ryan grilled a delicious dinner for me, and I got to snuggle with sweet P. </div><div><br></div><div>The next year (last year) Ryan had to work. Boooo! But I got to have a nice lunch with my mom while my dad babysat P. Still no nap! ;) </div><div><br></div><div>This year when Ryan asked what I wanted for Mother's Day I said sleep! And that I got!! He got up for Pierce's 2 nighttime feedings. Then got Prestyn up and got her breakfast. I slept until 8:30! It was glorious!!! </div><div><br></div><div>Ryan made me just the breakfast I wanted! Bacon, eggs, toast, and mimosas! It was delicious and perfect! We then all got ready to go to my mom's house to celebrate with everybody. </div><div><br></div><div>My dad was missing but it was nice to see my grandmother and uncle Rudy. It really was the perfect day. My mom fixed lasagne for lunch, Pierce took a little nap, and Prestyn loved all the attention! </div><div><br></div><div>When we got home Ryan helped getting the kids to bed, and ordered Chinese for us for dinner! Yum! The day before he and Prestyn walked in from being at the grocery store and she had flowers for me. She said happy birthday mommys day! So sweet! They're beautiful red roses and lilies! </div><div><br></div><div>Ryan definitely showed his appreciation for me today and I am so grateful. Then he told me to go shopping the next day! I've been needing some summer clothes so it was fun to get out! Sans kids! And shop! For me!!</div><div><br></div><div>Oh and an ironic gift from him was a Starbucks gift card which I've already utilized. Since I can't get sleep every day at least I can get good caffeine! </div><div><br></div><div>I love being a mommy to these sweet kids. And I'm thankful for my mommy teaching me how to be a mommy! Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! Cheers! </div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjh609foVBNiG7aszcPzz2wnWS3TNMmp6AOGS3QL6dr8Uo6g60Efj8b_40OnDsitV9w0N_lMZGUY2fARwxv9g9fpFpzSAnC9psbmU13hy7pX0dXGAtMFF6c1qUf89fgQVdmKKpe36SmX0/s640/blogger-image--1208038029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjh609foVBNiG7aszcPzz2wnWS3TNMmp6AOGS3QL6dr8Uo6g60Efj8b_40OnDsitV9w0N_lMZGUY2fARwxv9g9fpFpzSAnC9psbmU13hy7pX0dXGAtMFF6c1qUf89fgQVdmKKpe36SmX0/s640/blogger-image--1208038029.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_L9UBLCwtFAcsUew0EnJrKJLTT7HCg8z5ixeru-s-mBAXzwV7oF1A9TCq6i2uD-McBlNSm2aDGOaapdbYnaC5cBBw1ciMcmHqp8FWK1Hk8EGuiA2ih0BY9yp09IihlV2o3qjL2hAf2to/s640/blogger-image-2126343229.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_L9UBLCwtFAcsUew0EnJrKJLTT7HCg8z5ixeru-s-mBAXzwV7oF1A9TCq6i2uD-McBlNSm2aDGOaapdbYnaC5cBBw1ciMcmHqp8FWK1Hk8EGuiA2ih0BY9yp09IihlV2o3qjL2hAf2to/s640/blogger-image-2126343229.jpg"></a></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-63143574095710916442015-05-09T19:05:00.001-07:002015-05-09T19:05:51.251-07:00Pierce's 1st MonthWow! I can't believe it's already been 1 month since Pierce was born. It definitely has flown by. Knowing this is our last has made me hold onto little moments a little bit longer. The fact that 1 month has already gone by makes me tear up a little.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But it also makes me celebrate! Hallelujah! We made it! We've made it 1 month! Everybody told me what an adjustment it would be going from 1 child to 2 but they didn't quite tell me how. So I wasn't really prepared. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Everybody also told me not to compare our children which I knew. But they also would tell me how DIFFERENT they would be. But again...didn't tell me how! Soooo again...I wasn't prepared. Haha. I've definitely felt like a 1st time mom again. But that's ok. I am a first time mom to Pierce and he's his own person! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So even though his first month has been a challenge it has been rewarding. Seeing Prestyn with Pierce warms my heart. I can tear up just thinking about how much she shows she loves them, and I know they'll have a great relationship growing up together. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we went from breastfeeding to exclusively pumping and giving both formula and breastmilk to strictly bottle feeding with formula. And that's ok! It's what my little man needs and what works best for us. I read this in Babywise and I loved it! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoycQwE7OoMGYpHpT5UKy_8y8M2IhK4XYAyOdCVBq-TqU_3VVjpkO-8WADSYyUkJnV6B_U7-ZoyO7w_EIoZY7bmdPyh399Z6riEKzuoTHTTJhqu2fj9KGE2mx-uNHeltBtNut9UPg5GB8/s640/blogger-image-1577858250.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoycQwE7OoMGYpHpT5UKy_8y8M2IhK4XYAyOdCVBq-TqU_3VVjpkO-8WADSYyUkJnV6B_U7-ZoyO7w_EIoZY7bmdPyh399Z6riEKzuoTHTTJhqu2fj9KGE2mx-uNHeltBtNut9UPg5GB8/s640/blogger-image-1577858250.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Pierce now weighs 9.5 lbs and is a much happier baby!! He's on a 3 hour schedule during the day. His day starts around 6:30-7:30. He eats 4 oz and usually wants to go back to sleep but after a diaper change, and quick tummy time we wake Prestyn up so there's no chance he's sleeping! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
While I get Prestyn's breakfast and her ready he hangs out in the bouncer or plays on the play mat. Prestyn has enjoyed showing him how all of his toys work! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYzeQEoIIVzOQ7fDIuWA0VGV0gxbk2KFeFHnD_h-JYBvTSKjg3xy9AeSYpjRVzcvcjs75PpRoD8HRcelqtEh7fpZuX9Zxr95xMOpRyz-cMCBsa8zzIubgWFhyphenhyphenmoh-R-58NUWbf5AYsnIo/s640/blogger-image--730742697.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYzeQEoIIVzOQ7fDIuWA0VGV0gxbk2KFeFHnD_h-JYBvTSKjg3xy9AeSYpjRVzcvcjs75PpRoD8HRcelqtEh7fpZuX9Zxr95xMOpRyz-cMCBsa8zzIubgWFhyphenhyphenmoh-R-58NUWbf5AYsnIo/s640/blogger-image--730742697.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I know he doesn't look too happy in this picture but he is doing much better with awake times! He's currently in his first leap. Which means his brain is basically going through a developmental growth spurt. It affects him just like a physical growth spurt. He wants to eat a lot often and sleep! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I try to keep him up for just a little bit so at least his nap is good & restful! After Pierce has been awake for an hour (including feeding time) he's ready to go down for a nap! We swaddle him and rock him and down he goes! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
He's now napping in his crib and sleeps peacefully in there! I will say he's a much better sleeper at this age than his sister was. π since he's going through this leap right now I'm usually waking him up after a 2 hour nap to feed him. This schedule works for us and I'm hopeful he'll start sleeping more at night! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
There were a couple nights where he slept 5 hours but since going through this leap he's waking up about every 3 hours. A perk of bottle feeding is Dadda gets to take one of the feedings while mommy sleeps! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Pierce has now outgrown his newborn clothes and wears a size 1 diaper. He smiles at us now too! Not consistently but we definitely get some smiles out of him! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
He's not a fan of tummy time but I'm paranoid about flat spots on his head so we do lots of tummy time. Whether it be on my chest, legs, or a playmat I'm sure to get those upper body muscles built and help him gain some head control! Which he's doing very well at! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Pierce has a paci but doesn't depend on it much. He's not much of a fan of the swing either. He'll hang out in there a little bit but he'd rather be held! I love holding him but it's not always an option. π </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
We're having so much fun with our little guy and can't wait to see what the future months hold! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Oh. And he was asleep in these pictures because of the leap! I tried EVERYTHING to get him to stay awake but poor guy was just so sleepy. I was going to retake the pictures but I thought no...this is a reflection of him at this point! βΊοΈ </div>

Another day of just the 3 of us. There have been other blog worthy days but since I'm all caught up with publishing I thought I'd start with today. <div><br></div><div>I wasn't sure if today would be blog worthy until after we dropped Prestyn off at Mrs. Amber's. Let me warn you, the details coming up may make you sick. They made me sick but that's what makes this blog worthy! </div><div><br></div><div>So I get back in the car after dropping Prestyn off. We do our little turn around in the culdesac and I say "are you ready to go to run out errands Pierce?!" And he says, "bleeeeeeh bleeeeh blaaaaah" throw up! EVERYWHERE! Not just a little spit up. Straight up throw up. I parked the car in the middle of the culdesac to quickly jump out and check on him. I assessed the damage and decided we needed to go inside Mrs. Amber's house. </div><div><br></div><div>I get him out and he's COVERED in formula vomit. Bleck! I took his onesie off and cleaned it in Mrs. Ambers sink then got him wiped down and dressed in a new onesie. I had to pass him off to mrs. Amber while I cleaned the car seat. That's when I almost lost it. Bleck. This was worse than Prestyn's cheese vomit from a few weeks ago. </div><div><br></div><div>Thankfully this didn't happen anymore during the day, and let's pray it NEVER happens again. So what do we do?! Go run our errands of course! Target trip that Pierce slept through then to Tom Thumb. This is when it hit him that hey! I just lost pretty much everything in my tummy and I'm STARVING now! Feed me! NOW! </div><div><br></div><div>So the drive home was...loud. But once we got home he was happy to eat. Then a bath was in order of course! Pierce then took his nap while I tried to do EVERYTHING. Haha. We were on a schedule today so there was lots to get done! </div><div><br></div><div>Once he woke up and ate we were off again! We got Sister and headed to Rowlett for Nana's retirement party. Technically she's not MY nana but really she was a nana to everybody. Her time in the classroom will surely be missed but I'm happy for her to enjoy her time with Grandad! </div><div><br></div><div>There's no way I would've gone if I knew I didn't have help. My friend joann happily obliged and Prestyn was thrilled. Michelle and Kam stepped in to help too once we see there. They sugared Prestyn up with cake, candy, and punch. It was great to see a lot of my old coworkers and show off my pride-our children. </div><div><br></div><div>Prestyn as anxious to leave though because she was ready to see her Gee!! My dad is in town for the weekend so we got to spend some time with him and Nonna this evening. </div><div><br></div><div>The day turned out pretty good given how it started. I think I'm getting the hang of this. Oh and this is the picture of me I sent joann asking her if I could wear my be uniform to the party. If it wasn't for the vomit that ended up on my shirt in at have with this! </div><div><br></div><div>P.S. I love motherhood. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf3hKqC8JhC9FFqPsIVX8wDTH5mzrDkcM14iupduMHAJIKgrq_Z8dixKyxtPVqLboSnfcSGJpUraLbX1Hs93e7u7p7jmwP7JZowQgBjoEvEXYVWvLkrvv8w_abd6WKoSlVc_za2gc9Ldc/s640/blogger-image--1327645220.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf3hKqC8JhC9FFqPsIVX8wDTH5mzrDkcM14iupduMHAJIKgrq_Z8dixKyxtPVqLboSnfcSGJpUraLbX1Hs93e7u7p7jmwP7JZowQgBjoEvEXYVWvLkrvv8w_abd6WKoSlVc_za2gc9Ldc/s640/blogger-image--1327645220.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoZEqRgM75LMQt-d0QbmnXZtm5zuG_CrHT-LXfNxBVjBf0btYErtLCOtAFH9R8vkS9eI-JdaCt-ydJ4YLlc2TSeiNTMtoG_TRb7lllYDnRLNT-PAC-XM4SsF2OqBoke7OzZAjdgUTuqDM/s640/blogger-image--577496249.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoZEqRgM75LMQt-d0QbmnXZtm5zuG_CrHT-LXfNxBVjBf0btYErtLCOtAFH9R8vkS9eI-JdaCt-ydJ4YLlc2TSeiNTMtoG_TRb7lllYDnRLNT-PAC-XM4SsF2OqBoke7OzZAjdgUTuqDM/s640/blogger-image--577496249.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSkpgCsq49RiEZ2GwndFK4ZzsulOjYA14VMdFN_fXehByGFSbUYpmYFwoLBAu8fcAS2NVxjcONx7F-etJyVe4Y1TYygJt-VS6Plj6CieI1-PeV0EUErgcBry356Am8opx_XW6AS4dJyi8/s640/blogger-image-1369863499.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSkpgCsq49RiEZ2GwndFK4ZzsulOjYA14VMdFN_fXehByGFSbUYpmYFwoLBAu8fcAS2NVxjcONx7F-etJyVe4Y1TYygJt-VS6Plj6CieI1-PeV0EUErgcBry356Am8opx_XW6AS4dJyi8/s640/blogger-image-1369863499.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVI9VAHwg16aYaFlheePwpBRwZ8uwJJF6ZSZUl7YP-YggjQrkU3xygOdci6vvJacBwpPKuc1sSX3e89Zu3gxu9Bucfsbqx9LyQjI3SUoez1sEJ5_-bqlbKbbip8GeKxqqIa5uOx1t2pzA/s640/blogger-image-1947091165.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVI9VAHwg16aYaFlheePwpBRwZ8uwJJF6ZSZUl7YP-YggjQrkU3xygOdci6vvJacBwpPKuc1sSX3e89Zu3gxu9Bucfsbqx9LyQjI3SUoez1sEJ5_-bqlbKbbip8GeKxqqIa5uOx1t2pzA/s640/blogger-image-1947091165.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div><br></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01027787491588213842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2545175352246605331.post-48992817966009340862015-04-29T12:48:00.001-07:002015-04-29T12:48:16.955-07:00Pierce's Birth StoryWhen I found out my due date was March 27th (a Friday) I knew I wanted my c section scheduled for then. Prestyn's birth ended up being a c section, and even though my doctor supports a vbac we decided I would have a repeat c section.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Elective c sections are usually done at 39 weeks so you don't go into labor before but I really feel like much of Prestyn's development is due to the fact that she was born at 41 weeks. I certainly didn't want to go that long again but I wanted to go up to the due date. Which worked out since it was a Friday! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I worked up until 2 days before giving birth. I thought because it was planned that he'd decide to come early but no way! He knew momma had it all planned out! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The day before Pierce's birthday we made sure we had everything ready. I got a manicure and pedicure and lots of rest! Gammies and Paw Paw came over to keep Prestyn here in our home. I cried. It was hard leaving my baby knowing the next time I saw her I'd have a new baby!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Ryan and I decided to stay at the hotel at the hospital the night before since we had to check in for surgery at 5:30 am! Once we got checked in we enjoyed a nice big dinner at Chuy's! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We didn't get much sleep that night I don't know if it was nerves or excitement or the fact that we weren't in our own bed. π morning could not come soon enough! We got up and ready around 4!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Checking into the hospital this time was no different than last time. I knew we'd be leaving with a baby. Our room however was much different. This room was not set up for a vaginal delivery nor was there room for many people. This room was for prepping patients for surgery! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This time was quite different than last time. The nurse came in and began prepping me for surgery. I was really nervous. I was comforted to have a nurse I had last time and the CRNA I had last time! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I had been sick with head congestion and still wasn't feeling well this morning. Even though I was on antibiotics it didn't fix it! The CRNA gave me some sort of saline concoction that cleared me right up! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was sure to tell everybody how nervous I was so they'd take good care of me. They do that anyway there but I needed them to know! The anesthesiologist did a fabulous job! I hardly felt a thing and the epidural was given evenly. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was also sure to tell them how sick I got last time to hopefully prevent getting sick this time. They gave me a couple shots of the anti nausea medicine and I was good to go! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I was comforted to see my doctor once we got to the operating room. Still nervous though but everybody did such a good job of calming my nerves. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Before they began surgery they were cleaning me up and I couldn't feel it but I could see it! Up in the light above me I could see my belly which totally freaked me out that I'd be able to see the surfer but they moved the light and put the curtain up so it was ok. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
That same CRNA sat by my head and told me everything that I would feel and what was happening. You don't actually feel cutting but you do feel tugging.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a part during the surgery that I looked up and could see myself cut open in the light. I quickly told them and they quickly turned the light! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
At 7:48 am I heard the most glorious sound. Pierce's cry! A rush of emotions came over me and I bawled! I couldn't believe our little boy was here!! And he was perfect!! Ryan gave me a kiss then went to check on him. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As soon as the doctors pulled him out they said "he's a chunk!" And "look at all that hair!" Chunk was right! He weighed 8 lbs 3 oz! And he was 20 inches long. And yes he did have a full head of dark hair!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I got to hold him and love on him there in the operating room. Once they finished putting me all back together and sewing me up (which felt like FOREVER!) we went back to the room we started in for recovery. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We were in recovery for 2 hours. I got to oooo and aaaaa and love all over my little boy. We got some good skin to skin time and began trying to breastfeed. Which is a whole other story I already blogged about. Still that time together was precious. I didn't get that with Prestyn so this was new and truly special. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am so in love with this little boy.<br />

I took this picture this morning before I ventured out with both kids alone, and was just going to post with a caption. As the morning and day carried on I knew it was much more blog worthy!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtdDOyeZNz_83px31WXLLF1_PuVf5uelpbDjS8xUz6q4OLcgBzBT7FvhOaSPbuaCFc3Yr3jjRQZg2XH6h_WjHUiAZGo5w_6eI4A82Ob4ItshWxbheOZXutuB_5a3SPMmB5QoGRzVlr47Y/s640/blogger-image--1053958650.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtdDOyeZNz_83px31WXLLF1_PuVf5uelpbDjS8xUz6q4OLcgBzBT7FvhOaSPbuaCFc3Yr3jjRQZg2XH6h_WjHUiAZGo5w_6eI4A82Ob4ItshWxbheOZXutuB_5a3SPMmB5QoGRzVlr47Y/s640/blogger-image--1053958650.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
So this was me this morning. Before exiting the neighborhood I thought, we did it! We left the house on time with both kids in tact and happy! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
With my husbands schedule we are just the 3 of us every 3rd day. When he went back to work I had my mom to help. The next time I took Prestyn to my mom's for a little bit. The time after that I was all alone and it was tough! Although the neighbors did come over to play, and dinner was brought over which really helped! But this time I had a full day planned and I needed reinforcements! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Our plan was to go to dance the go to Ryan's work and go to the Wild West Watauga Fest. Sounds simple enough. Preparation began the night before. I packed a suitcase for Prestyn since she would be spending the night at Gammies. I also packed her dance bag with clothes to change into after dance. Then I had to pack Pierce's bag with bottles prepared since he's no longer drinking straight from the tap. I also hafts pack my pump so I could make milk from the tap while we were out all day! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
When Pierce got up to eat around 6 I stayed up so I could get myself ready and him ready. Then it was time to wake Prestyn up so she could have breakfast and get ready for dance. In order to get her hair fixed she had cake for breakfast. Sometimes it's whatever works! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
We were miraculously out the door by 9 am which meant we were on time! As we pulled out of the garage I realized I had not eaten anything so I ran back inside to grab a granola bar and pack of almonds! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
And we're off! I thought wow! We did it! My hands were shaky though. Probably nerves and the fact that I was running one cup of coffee. We get to dance and I realize just how nervous I am when I begin sweating then notice the one thing i forgot was deodorant!! Woops! MIL to the rescue though! She brought me some to the fire station! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
We made it to dance on time! Prestyn did fabulous. Pierce had to eat while we were there. Go figure. He eats all the time. Haha. I got Prestyn changed and ready to go to daddy's work! But before taking off I got hooked up to pump on the way! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Remember how I only had a cup of coffee?! So while I'm pumping we went through the whataburger drive thru so I could get a water! I'm sure they wondered what I was doing but a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
On the way to Watauga I kept seeing the drive now text later signs. I thought I wonder what they would say about pumping and driving! </div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The drive to Watauga was quiet and smooth. Prestyn played on the iPad and Pierce slept! We got to the fire station just in time to meet Gammies, Nanny, and Justi! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We spent some time at the station. Got the babies' diapers changed and fed! Then we were off to Wild West Watauga Fest! We immediately ran into a carousel ride and train ride! Prestyn rode the train with Justi. She looked scared but she had fun! We walked around to see what kinds of arts and crafts were being sold and saw all of the typical carnival games. Sweet Justi played a game to win P a minion. She loves "Pickle Me" (Despicable Me). </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Prestyn needed to eat lunch but she was not interested in eating at all! She loved observing everything! She picked Justi to ride the carousel with her on the way out. There were tears when we left but she was quickly happy to know that she would soon be seeing Mimis and Anca (Mia and Bianca-Gammies & Paw Paw's dogs). </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had a yummy lunch in Watauga, and lots of fun with the babies. Good thing I packed an extra shirt for Pierce since tee tee leaked out of his diaper. Next time I need to pack a shirt for me too! π</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Prestyn got to go home with Gammies, Justi, and Nanny to spend the night. She had a blast, and had no trouble telling me bye! Pierce and I drove back to Fate. He cried the 1st 10 minutes but then slept the rest of the trip!! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It was a good day! And we all survived!<br />
